How many of you have already waited after a new pet? The years, the days, the hours, the minutes, that never ending feeling...

For the lucky ones it’s only been two months, the time the puppy is ready to leave to your home, for other, it is the longest waiting to get THE heart dog, the one you have wanted for several years ...

Whether it's your first dog or even your third, the wait is always as long and unsustainable.

Which character will he have, which color will he be, will he be shy or rather confident?

Some of you will have searched for the perfect breeder and some of you will be on the lookout for dogs that enter the closest shelter to you to find the perfect dog.

Whatever your reason for having a dog or another pet, I hope your decision is deliberated!

Whether it is a shelter animal or a dog from a breeder, we must do our researches to ensure that this animal can be happy within our schedules, our hobbies, our families and our temperament! This detail should not be taken lightly since it is the one that will guide their life, in your home, towards success or failure!

This is why it is important to find a good breeder who will be able to guide you with your choice and who will not hesitate to tell you if the said breed is made for your lifestyle or not. You can also call a shelter which will ask you all the right questions to choose the right individual for your family.

You will all be tempted during your first research to choose to the easy and fast way. Someone who doesn't ask you question, takes your money and gives you the animal as soon as it's ready! But have you thought about all that "work" breeders do? Choosing the right parents, all the health tests that will help keep your dog's health good for it’s whole life, someone who pays attention to the temperament of the parents ... and so on!

Have you also thought about the animals which are often hidden in the basement or the garage of the so-called "breeders" who breeds back to back to back to back… the same dog since she is one or two years old until it often reaches old age at 7-8-9 sometimes even 10 years ... Don’t you think that these dogs deserve the same lifestyle that you would offer to your pet? Animals are not a method of payment for every day life. They are basically a family member who shares it’s daily life with us and who from time to time produces puppies and is removed from a breeding program before it gets too old!

Many breeders are passionate about their respective breeds, they participate in multiple competitions, spend hours researching the health of their breed, do lots of enrichment activities with their dog ... these are the people who dedicate their lives to presering a legacy.

When you will think about your next dog, even before you are waiting for your puppy, please encourage these great people who show passion and work hard! Don't hesitate to ask them a million questions, their eyes will light up with the idea of sharing their passion with you! And if you do not feel encouraging breeders, for any reason, go to a refuge and do not hesitate to chat with the staff, they are also passionate about animals and will be happy to guide you!

Together let's work towards a life where the pet is no longer an object but an integral member of the family!

Thank you for encouraging the people who have animals at heart and have a good wait for your next puppy!

For Zeni, the wait is rather long but we are patient to find the next ideal family member !! : D
