HERE IS A LIST OF QUESTIONS THAT ARE OFTEN ASKED TO US

1- WHY CAN WE NOT CHOOSE OUR PUPPY BY OURSELVES?
We live with these puppies until they leave for their forever home. For that reason, we can observe their temperament, energy level and personality develop throughout their stay at home. We are therefore able to choose a puppy that best suits your lifestyle based on the answers on your questionnaire and our meeting.

2- WHAT IS THE USE OF A WAITING LIST AND A DEPOSIT?
The Form at Zeni is used as a waiting list. It is used to see if it's a good idea to make a breeding at this time or not!

The well being of my females is what matters most to me and if there is not enough demand, I will not do unnecessary pregnancy. When a waiting list is complete/enough forms have been filled, this is when I start planning a breeding!

The waiting list is also used to keep you up to date with the latest Zeni updates! When a breeding is planned, I will contact you to know if you are ready to welcome your new puppy when making plans! If the majority of people confirm that they are ready, it is then that I proceed. When gestation is confirmed I will contact you to confirm that there will be a litter, if all goes well, and to give you an approximate date of acquisition of your puppy. An administrative fee of $500 will apply for the opening of your adoption file, when the puppies are a few days old. This fee must be paid at this time if you want to continue the Zeni adventure. In case of cancellation, this fee is not refundable.

But, if anything were to happen to the puppies in our 8-10 week period, the fees will be fully refunded. You have to keep in mind that unfortunate events can happen but I work very hard to keep everything under control!

If you want to subscribe to our waiting list, please fill out the
form on our website and I will then contact you if your application is selected.

3- WHY ARE THE PUPPIES SOLD WITH A NON-BREEDING AGREEMENT?

I do not sell any dog with breeding agreement. It is therefore useless to ask me the question, the answer will automatically be no. I put a lot of time and love into the choice of Zeni's breedings. Reproduction is not an acquired right but a great privilege that comes with hard work and accomplishment.

Non-breeding agreements are in place to preserve pure breeds and prevent irresponsible breeding.

All Zeni companion dogs must be neutered at the age of 8 months for females and 1 year for males, with a veterinarian proof.

Near this date, I will contact you personally to remind you that sterilization will have to be done soon and that I await your proof as mentioned in the purchase contract.

4- WHEN WILL YOU HAVE AVAILABLE PUPPIES?
When working with nature it is always impossible to know when such a thing will happen. But, on the "Litter" tab of the website, I mention when I plan to have puppies.

You can also subscribe to the waiting list by answering the questionnaire on the website to be kept informed of developments.

If you see that I currently have a litter and you are interested in a puppy right away, it is highly possible that all the puppies are already spoken for. You can then ask me and I will tell you if there is availability. The best way to find out about Zeni is by filling out the form on the website!

5- ARE RIDGEBACKS GOOD WITH CHILDREN?
The Ridgeback is normally a very good family dog, but keep in mind that it can weigh a minimum of 70lb as an adult.

Because of this, it may not be the best choice for very young children.

Dogs do not communicate their discomfort as a human would, and it is sometimes hard to guess how they will react, which is why all dogs should be constantly watched around children, no matter what their age.

If you're willing to give it more time, it might be a good fit for your family anyway

6- CAN WE VISIT THE PUPPIES?

Puppy visits are not done before the age of 6 weeks. I want to allow puppies to develop an optimal immune defense before they are handled by strangers.

To come and meet them, you will absolutely have to make an appointment before coming to our home.

7- WHEN CAN I COME TO PICK UP MY PUPPY?
The puppies can leave from Zeni's home at 8-9 weeks. If you prefer to leave your puppy a little longer for optimal development it is also possible to request it.

No puppy will leave before the age of 8 weeks. Before coming to pick up your puppy you must schedule an appointment.

8- WHY DO RIDGEBACKS HAVE A RIDGE?
The Rhodesian Ridgeback obtains its ridge from the Hottentot African dogs. Dogs with the ridge are said to supposedly be better hunters, but in the end it is only an aesthetic aspect.

The ridge is a characteristic of the breed which has somehow become its escutcheon.

Ridged Ridgebacks will be born with it. If they don't have one at birth, it will never grow. It is not uncommon to see ridgeless ridgeback, which nonetheless makes a fantastic Rhodesian Ridgebacks.

9- DOES THE RIDGEBACK REALLY CHASES LIONS?
The Ridgeback was created to help humans hunt the lion! They would send a pack of ridgebacks to surround the lion and drive it away from the villages and hunters, and then the man would come to the rescue to take on the arduous task.

In other words, the ridgeback does not attack the lion!

10- HOW MUCH ARE YOUR PUPPIES?

Our puppies are sold at the price of $2500 taxes included.
(THE PRICE CAN VARY AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT, WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATION, UNLESS AN AGREEMENT HAS BEEN MADE WITH YOU IN THE PAST)

The price of our dogs are set according to health testing done on the parents, conformation shows, sports and any ohter care given to the Dam while her pregnancy as well as care given to the puppies while they are at our home and their individual CKC registration.
